try asking in the turbo section or do a search, theres tons of threads of people asking that question. i hear a LS tranny is good for boost cause of the longer gears so u can stay in boost longer. The gsr tranny has shorter gears which give better accerlation but ur not in boost as long. Also the LS tranny is way cheaper than the GSR tranny. good luck with your venture.

I think the best tranny is a LS w/ GS-R 4th and 5th. 4th and 5th are too long for the 1320.

Hydro Trannies are kinda hard to come buy, so I'd go w/ whatever you can get your hands on.

Oh hell no, you'd have no traction... you might stop spinning your tires after you've shifted into 4th....

ITR/CTR/B16A Trannies are good for nautrally aspirated cars, turbo cars have far too much power to put it to the ground.

Imagine it like this, it's like riding your 21 speed bike with the chain on the smallest sprocket on the front and the biggest one on the back in a race.

I think he meant a LS tranny with the GSR 4th and 5th gears timing/gearing ratio and how it won't matter about the 4th and 5th because you don't use the 4th and 5th in 1/4 racing.

What I ment

You'll go thru just to 3rd if the car is mostly stock. The 1320 is the quarter mile, just measured in feet. Cars with a little more power, go into 4th gear in the 1/4 mile. Personally, I finish the 1/4 at 8000rpm in 4th gear. My friends' race cars finish midway thru 5th gear, closer to the top (depending on which tranny), but they run 9's.

The LS 4th and 5th gears are too long.... once you shift into 4th it bogs.... that's why if you have the GS-R 4th and 5th, it will be better for a higher-performance 1/4 mile car, but if you're driving on the highway a lot, it would be best to stick with the LS 5th gear.
