what is more likely to happen?

a blown head gasket or a cracked engine block, warped head? my exhuast is blowing a lot of white greyish smoke the last little while and i am hoping its a blown head gasket but what are the odds that the block or head will screw up before the gasket?

i am getting the car checked tomorrow and hopefully it won't be too serious.

that does sound like a blown head gasket. check ur coolant reservoir if it looks "milky" or "chocolate milk-like". those are also symptoms of headgasket failure since the oil is mixing with the coolant.

but to be really sure, u will have to take the head off to see what else is wrong.

ok i had my dad (mechanic) check it this morning and he told me that there are no symptoms of a blown head gasket. he said its probably just the cold weather lately and i should take it on the highway and drive 110+ km/h for a lil while and come back.

i did it this afternoon and now there is very little smoke coming out, basically like before which is normal. so it would appear that i might have panicked a little too soon.
