wheel are tire sizes choices need advice

Since my wheels were stolen I thought it would be a good opportunity to pick and choose what I like. I really dig rota wheels for their light weight, simplicity and price. As you know the stock wheels for a 97 teg is 6.5 x 15 and uses a 195/55 tire size. I decided to go with a little larger 7 x 16 rota wheels. My question now is what tire size will be best for it. I did some calculations and it came up that with 205/45 R-16 tires, the overall wheel/tire diameter will be pretty much what the stock diameter was difference of .18 inches. Now, Why I really need advice is I plan to lower my teg slightly and don't like the wheel and tire tucked under the fender and the nice rubbing noises it comes with so if I opped to go with the 205/40 R16 tire then my overall diameter is going to reduce 1 whole inch from stock so once lowered might give a better oveall look. What do you guys suggest I do? The 16 inch wheels are already purchased so don't tell me that I should have gone with a 17" heh

Actually the stock wheels are 15" x 6", not 6.5". Even the Type R.

205/45/16 is a great option. I have them (have had 2 sets) and they're a good combination of sidewall stiffness, grip, ride compliance, and looks. I'm lowered 2.0-2.1" in front and 1.5" in back and as you can see in my sig (left picture) they still aren't tucked. There's about a 1-finger gap in front and 1-1/2 fingers in back. When they do compress that far, I still don't hear rubbing - but then I have stiff springs and big swaybars so that doesn't really happen much at all hehe. You would be more likely to rub if you "corrected" your camber however.

I think 205/40s would look too small, and you'd have very little cushion between the rim and the ground - which means a hard ride and possible bent rims. The "rubber band" look is kinda weird with relatively small (as opposed to 22") 16" wheels.
