where is the vin ?

randyman, i know you're trying to help me but i gotta widen the scope more, i still can't find the vin on the LS. so if anyone knows where, let me know

Driver side dash by the winshield. Also can be found inside the engine bay on the firewall. I think its also located on the little label on the side door too.

i should have gave more info. i have a civic and i'm putting the LS longblock into it, i just want to find out what the vin is because the guy who sold it to me seems sketchy and i need to know the year.

The vin is for the car. Are you asking for a way to check to see if the engine is legit?

legitimacy and to know if it's obd1 or 2.

like i said before, the VIN plate should be found in front of the block (exhaust side), behind the header, just above the oil pan.

it might be covered with gunk, clean it up and u should see a green vin plate.

what about on a b16 ? how can i tell if it is a b16a1 or b16a2..the dude who sold it to me doesnt kno either he bought it with the swap already done

check the stamp on the block...just above the block number.
