putting CTR pistons/rings in a 94 GSR that will be in a g2(91 rs). by having this for now, then have some i/h/e...will i have a good amount of power considering that the g2's are no so light. basically what i am asking is will i be mad after this swap in my car with these basic mods for now? or will i be feeling some good power.
i basically just wanted this in the block and spend most of the money on the head later on? good idea? or bad idea? anyone have this setup in their g2, or at least a gsr with basic bolts, or just a gsr? were you happy with the outcome or no? thanks for the responses in advance
You should be matching your compression ratio to the cams you have, i.e. big cams high compression, moderately aggressive cams moderately high compression. Pistons are not a good place to start because A) when you get cams you should get cams that work well with that compression ratio, and what cams you want may change over time and B) it's not exactly cheap to pull the block and hone the cylinders, etc. The pistons themselves are the cheap part.

i am getting the motor soon so before i drop it in my car, i was going to do the piston work. that is why i was asking, so i should just focus on the head more then the block?
You should do some research and develop a complete plan of what you want to do with the engine. Then figure out which pistons will work best with the cams you will eventually get and go ahead and do it. Just don't expect upped compression alone to give you much or any gains until you upgrade the cams. Good luck.

I couldnt have said it any better myself. What stage cams are you eventually looking into getting? You wont notice much if anything just from the higher CR pistons without cams that are more agressive, but depending on which cams you decide to go with when you do get those the gains will be nice.
G2's are so light LMFAO...OMG sorry man...yeah they're the lightest integra to come witha 1.8L and I have a G2 and I love it and all...but she's still a fat pig, but a very very very good looking pig...thats why my LS/VTEC is going into my EG and I'm gonna boost a LS in my G2. And I'm with White98LS I'd start with the typical BS, I/H/C/E but if you can do all that now while the motors out of the car shit put in some rods and everything while your there...but thats a chunk of change when you add it all together.

yea, i just wanted the CTR pistons/rings in the block then was looking to eventually get the CTR or Skunk 2 Cams in there, along with the i/h/e...and later the skunk2 manifold
heh, you want teh AEBS Manifold and do it all at one time, I wouldn't spend the money to crack it open without some big cams, pick up some ITR's or something put in some ITR valve springs etc....this is a GSR motor correct if it is sorry about the AEBS Manifold quote I don't think they make one for the GSR like Skunk2 does

ITR cams are"big cams"...no
Depending on how far you want to go should decide whether you go with either the skunk stage 1's or 2's.
Dont get a skunk2 manifold just get the stock GSR IM ported, the stock GSR IM is very very good and porting it will produce the same if not better results for about the same amount of $$.
well i was thinking about the skunk2 stage 1's because they are in my budget ( i believe it was around 730 for the pair) . i just wanted to do a little block work while the block is out that i can benefit from? any ideas?
also, using all ITR parts, how much would i be wasting without the ITR head. so basically like a "poorer"(is this even a word?) - poormans itr setup, and is it worth it?

someone told me running the old b16 PR3 pistons would raise my GSrs compression to 11:3 or something. is that true? he told me b18c1 has the smallest pistons out of the b16 and b18c5

I know ITR cams aren't big, I said get some big cams or some ITR's...ITR's are good for the money...he didn't even say if he was running all motor or boost...I guess NA.
