Word to the Wise

If and when you do get an HID kit...hardwire the thing! :bh

I had my kit (i know its a kit and not a retro...sue me :byye ) for about 2 years now no problem at all untill today. My right light went out today, so I spent about 2 hours outside plugging and unplugging shit and moving it around to find out that my stock harness itself burnt somewhere in the bundle in the engine bay.

So I basically will have to remove the whole harness and take the shit apart to find the wire(s) and fix it...reason I have to fix it is to do it the proper way and use it a source switch for relays and bigger gauge wires i will have to use to prevent this from happening again

I didin't do anything wrong really

The ballast takes power from the stock harness...then goes back out to the bulb. The kit comes with a stock female connector so it's basically plug and play. The problem taking power from the stock harness is that it wasn't designed to take the much wattage. Most people have no problems with this because the ballast is basically an amp so it takes whatever power and amplifies it, but mine wasn't so fortunate.

The proper way to do it is to use bigger gauge wires and wire it directy to the fuse box or bat

ohh ok, thats what you meant by hard wiring. Yeah if its anything like an amp you'll get better performance with bigger wires.

Would the Integra even need a retro kit, or are the stock projectors good enough?

Just answered my own question. I didn't even type in "Integra" into the search engine, but this page said specifically what kind of projectors it has.
