hey hows it goin? is this a virus when some c: error pops up everytime you close it? its soo annoying when you have to close it 100 times for it to go away. but yeah what can i do to fix that? im sorta new to my 1st custom built comp. thanx.
It shows up in a window titled MS-DOS PROMPT.. I close that.. then sometimes an error message pops up (Registry Error) and says "Cannot import c:/moo.reg. This specified file is not a registry script. You can only imprt registry files". When i close that the MS-DOS PROMPT window pops up again. It like keeps poping up when I close it. Oh well.. Im switching from windows Me to windows 2000 so hopefule that will solve things.

Windows ME is very buggy. 2000 u will have a lot less errors not to mention Dr watson will watch for errors and keep a log. Why not go to XP, MB doesnt handle it?? no drivers for u?? If anything just go to that, b/c microsoft will stop backing 2k up soon. i know 98 is/will kick the bucket soon.

Originally posted by BlueBallz Oh, yes, I'm "serious" . whoaitslen2...Do you have
"Masters of Orion" for DOS? That's the only "moo.reg" I can
think of. What's going on so far?
Windows XP will blow 98/98se out of the water for stability. I have yet to have a problem with gaming if you configure it properly everything works.

...At least from what I've read, (and heard, first-hand). I'm
not saying '98 SE's not a "HOG", though, just a "lesser"
one. Plus, I've heard alot of games are incompatible with XP.
From what I've read, (in "PC Magazine", "PC Gamer", etc.),
the only advantage XP has over Win '98 SE is some advanced video properties.
Anyway, whoaitslen2 , what's with the "original"
probem? Any progress?

Windows Xp can be less of a hog if tuned just right. Msconfig and and performance options are just a few. Using Norton will help with a lil other stuff.
Games will work if you select it for compatibility for windows 95, also if you know what to adjust. Those mags mentioned are the old ones....the newer ones show no complaints except for some old games. All new ones are fine.
