Anyway to test firewall?

I just got my cable connection working yesterday. I have zonealarm and my router has a built in firewall. I was just wondering if there was a way to test these firewalls to make sure they are working and to make sure I have everything configured right.

eh anyone know any other good firewall? i used zonealarm but i don't like the way the interface and how it works. i can't even see who or where attacked me like i can in norton. and zonealarm completely screwed up my laptop. even after granting programs access it won't let it. but yea something just as good but not macafee, norton or zone alarm
