AVG Free Edition - Honda Forum / Acura Forum

Alright, my Norton subscription expired. So I took Norton off the computer, it was too big and made everything run slow.
I downloaded AVG-Free Edition. It seems to work pretty good.
Would you guys recommend installing anything else to go along with it?

i had avg free edition and it was a piece of shit. a still got a virus from it. i ended up buying mcafee virus scan plus. fuck that avg. its garbage

Yes. AVG is a virus scanner and will protect you from getting virus from emails and anything that you downloaded.

SpybotSD, is a spyware scanner and will protect you from spyware, keyloggers and crapware that may be installed on your computer without you knowing.

Another programs to get
Firefox as the browser if you don't have it already. Also get AdBlock Plus as a plug in for firefox to block the ads and/or pop ups.

Zone Alarm. A free firewall program to protect yourself from people hacking/hijacking your computer.

HiJackThis is great, and BullGaurd rocks hard, although its no longer freeware... Norton? Norton is a virus in itself, commercial garbage, so is macaffee, lol. Good call wiping off Norton!

i got rid of AVG and switched to AVAST! it's free and so far seems very very good

for virus they say that NOD32 is one of the best...ive used it, it has saved me form many things, BUT it seems to me when NOD is running, divide your processor speed by 2 and thats hwo fast your shit will run when NOD is open, ive tried it on at least 5 seperate builds, all with same results

I still use AVG and AVG spyware and they both are great! Never had a problem compare to Norton where I believe they are infecting your pc so you can keep using their product...
