my mom is looking into buying a new digicam. upgrading from the one that uses diskettes. well, i need a good one but i know didly about optical and digital zoom and all that crap. all i kno is that its gotta be atleast 3.2mp cause i take alot of upclose model shots (architect major). my mom saw this in the newspaper ad: http://www.bestbuy.com/site/olspage....uctCategoryId= i think i saw it in the store b4 and didnt really like it, but if u have n e recommendations please drop me a line.
That seems like a pretty good one from a glance. The price is pretty good too for a 4mp camera. When buying a camera, Digital zoom is complety pointless. What a digital zoom do is blow up an image to make it appears closer. When you do this you lose a lot of picture quality. Optical zoom is one of the most important thing in a camera. Optical zoom is when you zoom in from the lense so the picture will be nice and clear. 3x optical zoom is standard for most digital camera.
If you say you are taking up close model shots, how close do you need to go? Most digicam have trouble on focusing on upclose shots. If the object is not atleast a foot away, I would recommend you get a camera with "macro" shots, lens, capability, how ever they want to call it. That "macro" mode allows you to take up close image with out blurr.
Im not really a big fan of sony camera, but this one seem pretty good. Other camera to look at are olympus, minolta, canon, nikon, and fuji. Dont get kodak digital camera.

yea, wen i say model shots i mean sumtimes about 2-3inches upclose, so the buidings appear lifesize, i'll make sure i take the macro thing under consideration.
just realised to that the camera doesnt have any optical zoom. Thanx
canon A300. good 3.2mp camera. goes for avg price of $180. I think there's a newer model out the A310 or some shit. but yea theres no zoom on it. next best camera would be the Canon SD100(dc) or SD110(new) that goes for around $250. i have the sd100 and love it. does really good macro pics. i'm sure the A300 would be just as good. lighting sytem is awesome. I heard alot of good reviews on that A70 too
