I built my housemate's computer with that case. It's a good case and looks good to boot. I'm a bit iffy on the PSU that comes with it.

Your Absolute best value will be this. Antec makes great power supplies. Believe me there is a difference. Enermax makes great ones too. but antec includes these with their cases, which are also pretty good

For memory i've found http://www.zipzoomfly.com to be the best deal.

You'll want dual channel DDR400 (PC3200); corsar XMS and Kingston Hyper-X are good.
corsair
http://www.zipzoomfly.com/jsp/Produc...tCode=80097-27

you can go ATI if you want

comes w/ free half life 2 too
ATI RADEON 9600XT Video Card, 128MB DDR, 128-bit, DVI/TV-Out, 8X AGP -RETAIL $189.00
http://www.newegg.com/app/ViewProduc...=BROWSE&depa=1

or if you want to watch tv, listen to the radio, import video, etc... the 9600 Pro all in wonder isn't that much more

http://www.ati.com/products/radeon9600/aiw9600pro/
http://www.zipzoomfly.com/jsp/Produc...uctCode=320746
ATI All-In-Wonder 9600 PRO AGP 8X 128MB DDR Video Card Retail *** Free 2nd Day *** $217.00

For AMD I'd say go for the Athlon64 3000+ running at the same speed as the 3200+, the reduction in cache to 512k has only a minor impact on performance. In almost every benchmark, the 3000+ is only a few percent lower in performance than a 3200+. Even more important, the 3000+ performs very well compared to Intel’s 3.2 GHz Pentium 4 — a chip that sells for almost double the cost of the Athlon64 3000+.

http://www.newegg.com/app/ViewProduc...pa=0&section=4
AMD Athlon 64 3000+, 512KB L2 Cache 64-bit Processor - Retail $240.00

I'd suggest waiting until nVidia's nForce3 boards come out; which shouldn't be too long now.

Everything else stays the same. same cases, power supplies, video card, memory, etc..

no thats 333mhz DDR you want 400mhz DDR. You'll get better performance out of a single channel 400mhz module then out of 2 dual channel 333mhz.

you want something like this
http://www.zipzoomfly.com/jsp/Produc...ctCode=80097-0

http://www.corsairmemory.com/corsair...-3200c2pro.pdf

you'd probably like it 'cause it's got the LEDs on top of the memory showing it's usage; which looks cool through a clear case.

btw didn't get to finish my recommendations.

for a hard drive check out
Fatwallet.com > Forums > Hot Deals keep looking and your guaranteed to find a good deal. i got a 200GB drive for $20 after all rebates and pricematches @ circuit city this summer.

example: WD 160 GB (maybe 200GB) $15 AR @ CC B&M after PM to Sams or more AC, YMMV <-- old deal. keep your eyes out for new ones. check back regularly as some dont last very long.

as far as a CD-RW drive is concerend Lite On is The drive to get. cheap, reliable, fast. $36 Free shipping
http://www.newegg.com/app/ViewProduc...=BROWSE&depa=1

you can get it in black which looks cool in a blue, grey, black, white, case.

if you dont want a cd writer and just want a DVD-ROM drive then pioneer is what you want $37 free shipping
they make a slot loading drive but avoid it like the plague, it eats discs.

http://www.newegg.com/app/ViewProduc...=BROWSE&depa=1

if you want a black drive instead; since pioneer isn't selling them right now go for the sony 16x dvd #32.99 free shipping

http://www.newegg.com/app/ViewProduc...=BROWSE&depa=1

and finally if you want a floppy drive

http://www.newegg.com/app/ViewProduc...=BROWSE&depa=1
this samsung is the quietest, fastest, most reliable one made right now. $5.99

If you go with the P4 retail, the Intel 875 board, the single channel 512MB of corsair XMS ram, the cheap hard drive, the antec case/power supply, the lite on cd-rw, samsung floppy, and the radion 9600XT
= $844. that will run fast and reliably; good hardware = alot less crashes.

you can change out some of the componets and move them around if you like the differnt case or whatnot. that's what i'd reccomend if you bought now. if you wait i'd def. say go for the Athalon64 and nForce3 pro 250 board.
The 150 is what's out now. it doesn't support DDR400 yet. wait for the 250 if your going AMD; it'll be worth it.

yhea

this
http://www.corsairmemory.com/corsair...512-3200c2.pdf

but it wont be as cheap. and it wont be very noticably faster. it's noiceably faster then if you have 2 non dual channel chips next to eachother. but 1 single channel vs 2 dual is hard to tell the difference. i'd say go for the single. then upgrade with a double later and move the single to the secondary memory slots so it will only be accessed when the faster memory is full.

it all comes down to how much you think you'll have in the computer when you fill all the slots. if you add dual 512s then you'll max out at 1.5GB. if you buy a single channel then you can add another single channel and 2 dual 312s and you'll have 1gb of dual and 1 gb of non dual. the dual will be faster then the non dual but you have more memory to work with for things like video editing. if gaming is your no.1 priority, go for the dual 256s. if max memory is then go for the single 512.
