If you put up a price, I'm sure some of us could find you a better deal or a better unit for the same amount or find something a lot better for just a little mo re.
What are you using the PC for? I hope its not gaming, because that 6800xt isnt going to get you anywhere. Also I think its kinda of a waste to buy such a nice cpu (e6700) and pair it up with such crappy video card. Unless if are planning to do NO gaming at all, I would get something better. You can get the 7900GS for about $190 or so or the 7900GTO for about $250. The lowest that I would go would be the 7600GT which could be bought for about $120 AR. It is a lot better then the 6800xt even if you are able to unlock the extra pipes and cost about the same.

..but I agree..put up your budget and we can spec you out a pretty good system.
Also are you into overclocking at all, because Conroe processors overclock VERY well and you can save some money by getting a 6600 or even a 6300 and overclocking it.

i am not sure if i should overclock I would like to make the system very reliable I heard overclocking after certain time can put alot of stress on the system. I dont have much experience with overclocking either. I dont really have a budget though.

If you're not sure about overclocking then I would suggest against it. If it's going to be your only pc then I would suggest against it. I'm sure there are 100's of people who have tried it and had great results but it's the one time you need your pc to work that it'll crap out on you. If you have a laptop or something that is always stable then I would say go for it. Other than that I would avoid overclocking unless you really know what you're doing.
As for overclocking, if you choose to do it, make sure you're familiar where the CMOS reset is. After you've at least made sure your computer runs stable for 24 hours, and you don't mind tweaking the BIOS settings. If it gets too hot, and the HSF on the CPU can't handle it, the box should shut down to protect from overheating. As long as you have a decent heatsink on the CPU (even the stock OEM one), then overclocking with bad settings won't harm a thing.
Yeah Johhnyguru's site is great. His review along with several others helped sway me to buy a Thermaltake 750w ToughPower modular PSU. Hasn't arrived yet but I'm stoked....from the reviews it seems to be extremely solid for the money...and enough for a 8800GTX when I get one in a few months.

well the reason i suggested the s12 plus was because the system really doesnt need over 500W; & the new plus model (80-88% efficiency) runs very quiet with stable voltages. even though the extra efficiency doesnt really come into play until there's a large load, it's only $10 more than the older standard S12.
i have the older s12 model in my pc now, and i can attest that its not even audible & never gets hot.
thermaltake has really taken off and made some awesome PSUs too. i guess i was just projecting my pref for silent pcs.
