when i burn a CD, the song always skips. I always leave the computer just to burn, i dont use any other programs when im burning. My older CD's were ok, but now almost every new CD results in skip. I dont even use all the space on the CD. So i do not know what is the problem.
I've noticed that on my 48x CD burner, it has troubles burning at that speed. So I burn at 16x and it finishes just as fast, but hasn't given any problems yet.

If you do have problems burning at that speed usually it's the hard drive not sending enough info to keep burning. Most of the newer CD burners now a days have a Burn Proof tech which will suspend the burn and not create a bufferunderrun if the data stream is interrupted.
Try defragging the HD...when was the last time you did a defrag?
What program are you using? When I had EZ CD Creator one of my tracks would end up missing or it skipped. I switched to Nero and haven't had a problem since.
my CDRW is like 4 months old and is supposed to have all that buffer underrun stuff to prevent it from buggin out on bottlenecks. It's not a big deal....Still just takes 5 min to do an 80min CD.
