as far as laptops go (and baring the almighty apple titanium laptop), dell has always been my brand of choice. I have a dell inspiron that's 2 years old now. I'm happy with it, no major problems at all.

Dell laptops are the best that you can buy.
I work at a computer store selling our own computers and tell a good portion of the laptop customers to buy a Dell.
the only other lappy i would trust would be IBM but dell beats them hands down in price so i'd say dell as well... most of the teachers at my school use them. rarely have any problems, and if they do product support is great.
