Can you save data onto DVD+R?

It might be a stupid question but I was wondering if you can save data onto a regular 4.7gig dvd+R just like you would a standard 700mb cdr? I'm tryin to clear up some space on my hard drive and the drive wont recognize a dvd+r like it would a cdr. BTW, I have a plextor 708UF external dvd burner and roxio software.

yes, I do that all the time. I use Nero6 and created a data disk.

what else would you put on a dvdr besides data?

like I dump on all the aqua teen hunger foce eps on a DVD-R. You can only play them on the computer, not on a DVD player because they're not set up as a DVD

I always suspected that you could. I guess with my software it was not recognizing the drive and it would always tell me to put in a blank disk. Anyways, anybody got a link to a Nero 6 freebie by any chance?

Use either Nero or XP Integrated Support

Roxio blows all their money on advertising instead of the actual product quality.
