Yeah so lately I can't stream .mpg or .mpeg with windows media player and I used to be able to. However, I am able to stream .wmv and everythign else I think. For .mpg or .mpeg it opens freakin quicktime in the browser which takes forever, anyone know how can I fix this and put it back to wmp. thanks.
alright when you say stream you mean you cant like.. click on a file on your harddrive and play it threw wmp, right? if thats the case then all you have to do is right click it, go to properties, on the first tab (general) you will see a button that says "change". click that then select the program you want to use (which is Windows Media Player) and the click okay and apply and all that other happy bs
no i actually meant, when i was on a website and wanted to stream it directly from that instead of dling the file, get me? It lets me do it with .wma but not .mpg or mpeg

Looks like QT took over priority for those extentions.
Try this:
Start WMP then click Tools > Options > File Types (tab) > Select All > OK. That will make WMP the default player for everything.

Yeah that should work. Indeed QuickTime sucks becuase it takes a while to load after you click it...
If you go to Folder Options and go to the File Types tab, you can change your settings there also, but in WMP (or wherever you want to play it), and there should be preferences to edit the file types.
