Cant stream video! - Honda Forum / Acura Forum

Alright so I got a new vid card last night. BFG GeForce 6200OC. I had problems getting it to show ascreen but figured that out... but now I cant stream videos online. I locks up once buffering is done and it tries to play... any ideas?

I read your other thread and I have a question for you, what drivers are you using? Out of the box drivers or the nVidia site drivers?

go to NVIDIA driver site and DL the new drivers.

I am looking for a new card and most of the problems are solved when they DL the new drivers. The drivers in the box are always old according to the reviews of most cards that I have been reading.

Hmmm tried tat... it wont actually lock up now, but it runs my CPU at 100% and everything runs so slow I cant do anything ....

Go into the bios and disable AGP, also run the latest nVidia drivers from there site

I went into BIOS... under standard the video was at VGA and some E one i had never heard of...

and under advanced there was nothing that disabled AGP, just different settings for it

I already installed drivers from Nvidia.

Its been giving me more problems now. The 2 games I have will sometimes lock up, and sometimes they will act like a skipping CD for a couple secs then they will be fine. If I run the screen refresh at 75 it gives me a massive headache, but at 60 it doesnt. I always ran at 75 with the other card.

Ok well then I suspect its maybe a power issue or a heat issue.

Ok how would I take care of that? I have been keeping an eye on the cards temp, havent seen it get above 38deg.

Well I cant say for sure if power is the issue, however if your power supply is old or under powered for your system it will make for some complications. If you agree that it may be the issue then upgrading it would be the only solution.

You may wish to consider that you got a bad card that needs to be replaced, it happens.

It might be a codec issue.

I wouldnt be able to download the video to check because I cant check for any links or click any links for download once it tries to play. I have to restart once it does because it gets so slow nothing will even register when I try to do it.

Flash videos seem to play just fine, but WMP wont play. I will try dl'ing updates for WMP...

When you installed the new drivers you uninstalled the old ones right?

Well I returned the card... exchanged it for the same card but AGP instead of PCI. Now everything works great! Even websites load faster now didnt expect that. I dont know if it was a bad card or if PI just sucks that much for graphics, but it woks fine now. And the best part is... BestBuy screwed up and entered te wrong information into the computers for this card... I got the GeForce 6200 OC but the bar code comes up as BFG GeForce MX4000... so I got the card for $50 versus $100 cuz no one was bright enough to figure out what was wrong... obviously I didnt say anything I played stupid lol.
