You don't buy aftermarket ink do you? ;o. My dad did all the time and we've gone through like 3 printers in four years, lol...

I've been using aftermarket ink my entire life and have never had any problems.

My printer prints photos flawlessly.

i usually buy the 30-45 dollar hp printer...last maybe a 1 or 2 years

cheap ink isn't worth it. it worked fine on my epson 777, but ruined my epson cx5200. it clogged up the heads and cleaning solutions wasn't able to clean it up. i also have a cx5400 and it was printing in streaks. i now buy OEM cartridges on ebay.

I get cheapo ink for my Canon mp390 and it prints Photos flawlessly.

It does have a nice cleaning and alignment function though
