last night was one hell of night trying to just install my new video card!
heres the story, i took my old card out, and put in a new 200 gb hd in because im going to do fresh install on that hdd. so i proceed to turn on the computer, and nothing shows up, it doesnt even wake up the montior. nothing shows. hdd light is on steady. the whole night i struggled trying to find a wire that isnt connected or something like that. then i decided to take the bios battery out and let it sit for a few mintues, then i re installed it and tried again and still nothing. i tried my old card, and even my old hdd. nothing....
so i read the manual for the mobo and it stated that i needed to jump the cmos to clear it. so i did that, and tried again and it worked!!! so i went on to install the xp on the new hdd. xp only found 131,xxxmb it should find at least 200,000 mb or 200gb. and the slave hdd which is 60 gb and it named that hdd C:/ drive, and the new 200gb had no drive. and i was confused there, and i shut down. Unplugged the slave drive, and rebooted, and it went through some bios check and everything went through until it came to DMI pool data check sucessfully, and it pauses and hangs from there.
i am totally stuck here. i dont know what else is wrong. so im clearing the cmos again. and see what happens from there.
but im wondering why it would hang after DMI pool data is sucessfully cleared??
