Comp. Slow...How do i clean it out?
My computer is getting slow for the first time, it takes a while to load personal setting when logging on. How do i make it fast again? What do i have to delete and clean out and how do i do it? I have windows Xp and verizon DSL if that helps any also. When i log on it says something about unable to open theese 2 or 3 different files that i dont even know what the hell there are. it asks if i want to send a error report or something? Ay help on making my comp fast again is greatly appreciated

start----> accessories---->system tools---> disk cleanup. then choose what u want to get rid of. it might take awhile depending on how much shit is on ur comp

How To: Remove Spyware + Tips & advice

Could be slow cause of a virus/spyware or could be you just have too much shit on there lol. Format and Reinstall would be the ideal solution, but if you dont want to I guess do disk cleanup, delete all your cookies and temporary internet files.

Also delete your temp internet files.

Open IE--->Tools--->Internet Options----> Under Tempory Files---->Delete Files

Did mine a couple of days ago. Had 91,000 files in it and over 4gigs of info.

disk cleanup grabs that too.

search for .tmp files (I believe, correct me if im wrong) but are just temporary junk, delete those.

Start > Search > *.tmp

* = wildcard, searches for everything with the extension .tmp Won't cleanup a whole lot, but everybit counts.

RunninSOHC is on a distinguished road
goto start > run > msconfig > then goto startup tab. something in there is starting up probably what's slowing you down. Have you checked for spyware / virus because I'm sure it is definately something third party starting up and running in the background

i've got the same problem as he does except my OS is 2000 (yeah...i know...ghetto) do i just do the same? disk clean up, defrag?

DISK CLEAN UP AND DEFRAG DON'T DO SHIT MOST OF THE TIME

START > RUN > REGEDIT

Start > Run > msconfig
For XP, I think it's in other versions. Keeps you from messing up the registry if you get to trigger happy.

Im a computer idiot, ive been working on this for a while and i just dont get it. ive tried a few things in the post like getting rid of stuff that pops up at start but i still get this thing that says jppm.exe is a non responsive program where it asks to send or not send the error report i clik dont send it and the same message pop ups at least 10 more times. i dont even know what this is thats trying to open. it pop ups before my tool bar or my icons even show and my personal settings take forever to load up...i dunno what else to do ive cleaned out all temp. files and cookies. im lost
