Computer dangerously low in resorces..?

I have had this problem before but latley it seems like its getting worse ..today i just deleted like.. man over 100,000 pictures in the temporary internet files and others it took me a good 2 hours ..they were pics from over the years from like 2000 to 2005 ..so it cleared ALOT of space up ..so wouldnt that help it or something ..i will restart my computer, run limewire and a internet page and maybe aim and it will come up system dangerously low in resorces and shit will start to go hecktic/freeze or whatever ..i have dsl and my computer was custom built so it isnt really one of those little pos's you buy and an off market store or something but any computer can go to shit so yeah..i was away for a couple months and when i can back my sister had like screwed everything up ..she clicks everything ..i run virus scans frequently and sometimes come across one and i run spybot find a hell of alot of whatever it is ...so i dont even know what to do anymore ..anyone know of anything i can do to fix my comp..thanx

go to pcpitstop.com . click full tests on the left menu bar. click new member and that should run a group of tests. when it finishes everything it will give suggestions on whatever probs it finds. and its free :w00t

the tests wont work i tried to do some of the stuff it said in the trouble shooting section but it didnt work ..my windows update dosent work either ..it gets real slow around 66% then it finishes and says 13 critical updates needed ..click her to get them ..i click it and it sits there for about 5 minutes and goes to a action cancled page..tried it over and over same with the pc pit stop ...HEEELLLLLLP!!!!!!!!1 :bh

have you run adaware and an antivirus program?

windows 98.. and i have them both ..adware freezes sumtimes but ocassionaly works and i have avgs new edition

can you run adaware in safe mode? Thats sucks, win98 is the . Id try a repair install if you got a disk




If you can back up your important files and reformat im sure that would work quite well. Any pre W2K system ive had starts to suffer after a year or two.

There are some pretty sweet northgate athlon 2500's on ubid.com for 300 too, they work great for surfing and email and pics

That test almost gave me a seizure with the rapidly changing colors aspect.

that blows, i know i have one but its in a box in many boxes i have somewhere in this place. maybe someone else has a copy of 98 they could burn for you. sorry man
