Computer has been acting funny....

I've been having some problems with my laptop.

first, when I boot up and click on my profile to log in, my background (wallpaper) will appear but that will be it. my mous pointer will be there but no icons or start menu load. It takes it a few minutes and then starts loading correctly.

Second, it seems like any program on my computer is unable to connect to an internet server. For example, limewire cant connect to its thing, i cant get any updates for my computer by going through the program. Like I can get online and do whatever I want through my browser, but the programs dont work.

Third, audio and video streams have been really slow and eveyrthing is choppy when it plays. Like my sons sound like theyre the chopped and screwed versions, like my computer just cant play them very well.

i did the noob maintenance guide or whatever, one trojan was removed. but the thing is what if i have a virus that is new, and i cant get an update for it because nothing works? anyways any help is appreciated

Well i dont know about the AMD processor...maybe upgrade

Try a antivirus program called One Care Antivirus. I picked it up on sale at Best Buy for $30 with 3 licenses and it cleared everything out that was infecting my PC and made a huge difference.

I think I'm gonna take it to circuit city and see what they can do with it (on full warranty)

if nothing else, i can take it in 3 times with a viable problem they will give me a new laptop at the value of this one (1200+ i think it was when i bought it)
