My computer has shut down completely. I unplugged the outlet and plugged it back in and it won't turn on now. Did i blow a fuse? power supply? how do i fix this problem? thanks.
could be a lot of things....fried motherboard, cpu, power supply ect
fixing this problem hmmmm.....open up ur desktop computer case make sure the power supply cable is attached to the motherboard securly, take it off the motherboard ect......if its a extensively burnt part u would c black areas but not on most....most of them arent visible....look at the things i listed above...
Also if u fooled with the power supply it could be the problem....on the back of the power supply their is a red switch type thing which is the voltage/watts for the power supply it might not be on the right position...do this on ur own risk
if your motherboard connector is color coded (and almost all are) you can short the green wire to a black one and that will cause the power supply to turn on. Use a paperclip or something. That will at least tell you if it's before or after the PSU
