couple of questions

First time in this forum for me. I'm no computer whiz, but not totally lost either. First question is: at my job we try to play online games. some of these games are shockwave and we can't play them. is there a way around that? second question is people tell us that the company knows each and every site we go to and they have one guy who monitors everything. how likely is this? do they have some kind of tracking programs? One more question, i am in serious need of a new computer. my connection speed is 19200bps,i have windows 95, i don't even have a pentium. just looking for suggestions on a new system. not a hard core gamer, just mainly a good web performer. thanks!

i got my mobo/cpu combo for 99 bucks. hella good deal in my opinion. it's an amd xp atlon.. 1700 = 1.47ghz. if you look hard enough u can prolly find a good deal too. i got mine at frys electronics. if you have a frys electronics near you i suggest you check out their combos. they have killer combos sometimes. you can prolly build a decent comp that'll last for around 300-400 if u have a monitor that is.

and about website tracking i'm pretty sure they would do it.. it's not exactly hard. a computer keeps track of all websites visited in the history or cookie thing.. about the shockwave if you don't have the plug in installed then mostlikely you won't be able to play it..

ya if ur not a huge user get an athlon...they perform well and they are 1/2 the price of the same speed pentium 4 chips
as for the monitoring all your websites...i dont know how likely this is at your work but its very possible...they can monitor every packet from every computer nevermind just the websites.
