If it is a true dot defect, then it will be there from the first time the monitor is turned on until the day it is obsolete and dies. It will never get larger or smaller, and it definately will not ever go away. So if you no longer have it, then it wasn't an LCD Industry Standard Dot Defect. Goto DOS or some black screen see if it is still there. By the way you are not entitled to a replacement if there is a dot defect.....the only thing you can do is PERM it (permanently return) within the period you are allowed to. And that means you will have to eat the restocking charges, also. Then you could try again and see if you get a perfect monitor and repeat the process if not.
