deleting files on sandisk cruzer mini?

Anyone know how to delete these files? my girlfriends 512mb usb disk drive is not allowing her to delete her files. it's brand new. it will not save the files by overwriting them eitehr because it says they're locked???

I have not yet seen it to play with it, but any ideas???

yes, there is a lock on it, but she didn't use the lock to put the files on it, and it's never been setup. she got it yesterday and hasn't set up anything as far as a password and stuff. so that's why she's confused.

Should be just like a regular drive.

sometimes there's a little switch on the side of it to lock it from deleting files.

well... i got to her house and everything deleted just like normal. but she said that the problem she was having at school was when she went to click on it to delete it, it had a little lock symbol next to it and it was telling her the files she was trying to delete were "locked". She was using a MAC at school and uses a PC at home.

Any ideas?? BTW, the files she copied to the disk from school, were able to be deleted at home on the PC. So I don't know what's up??

but really, with macs, most of the time you dont just highlight and delete, you actually have to drag the file to the Trashcan. but yea, the "lock" switch on the side of the flash drive might have been on too

unfortunately, no lock switch on the flash drive.

just as a picture of a lock next to them but only when she views them from the MACs at school here at the PC there is nothing and they can be deleted.

I guess she can open the files and look at them though.

Has she tried moving them off the flash drive rather than deleting them?

So the way I see it is, she can copy to the drive. Open files off the drive. She just can't delete off the drive...wierd. I'll have to try it with my mac and pc.

exactly, she saves her psd files and stuff for her adobe programs for school. she can open them copy them that's really about it. she can not delete because it says they're locked, and i just found this out, she can NOT save them once she opens them because it says it's locked and write protected, but she can save it if she renames the file???

This is only a problem on the mac computer....

Please let me know what you find out with yours so I can figure out if this is just a messed up drive. I have 30 days to take it back to bestbuy.
