divx freezes laptop

well this sucks. when ever i try to watch a divx movie on my laptop it my comp freezes. doesnt matter what prog i use to watch it, it will freeze. i have repeatedly uninstalled and reinstalled the divx 5 bundle and it still doesnt work. i have no idea what to do. i have a compaq amd duron 850 mhz, 192 megs of ram. i know compaq sucks, but would that be the problem?

you cannot always blame the hardware (compaq) though compaq

is NOT that good indeed...

does your laptop freeze when you run other programs? or just

the Divx program? I suggest you make sure the Divx program

you downloaded is compatible with the Windows

(98/2000/ME/XP ?) you are currently using.

well i dont just use the divx program. i use power dvd, media player and stuff. and it always freezes. and only divx files do this.
