dsl speed
what would cause my speed to be so slow... 396 down 350 up!
back in summer i was getting over 1500 down and 500 up... anyone have any clues, or any tips to speed it up

umm probably, something is capped off or your line is messed up.
try www.dslreports.com for help.
you dont give enough info.

your DSL line should be constant speed for one computer. but if theres more computers online on your network, then it will slow down your connection.

What is your source (what "test" site did you use)? Are you on a network (more than one computer)? What DSL provider are you with?

Bring up the dos window and type in
Ping www.superhonda.com
See if you have any packet loss
And then type in
Tracert www.superhonda.com
To see where you are having problems at
PS you dont have to use SHO as the url

something i learned today about tracert, so when i use tracert and put in a url and that is how many servers it goes through in oreder to get over from my house to superhonda server am i correct?

its kinda funny that it takes me 17 servers from my home to my school ( www.rit.edu) its only like 3 miles away, and from my home to superhonda.com its 16 servers and that is like about 1,500 miles away lol.

by test site do you mean dslreport.com? no im not on a network... well not yet atleast, my other computer is still dead... my provider is spc yahoo

Yes, that's what I meant. I have SBC yahoo in "chicagoland area" and I'm around 1.3m on dl speed, forgot what the upload was. However I have a 4 computer network in my house too. Keep checking, could just be sbc in your area has heavy loads going through it. If it keeps lagging try to reinstalling and then if worse comes to worse call sbc and have them watch your line to see if there is a leak on their end.

Yes, cable is better, if it is available in the area you live in, which it is not around my house.
