Finally got my 8800GT
This is one of the better ones out from what i read, and it is also one of the cheaper ones. Its a Galaxy, it has a jumper on it that bumps the core voltage another .5v, and apparently runs cooler than any other 8800gt's out there
need to clean the wire mess up, i'm gonna do that soon when i take it out to blow all of the dust out of it
the only thing is i don't think this heat sink is suppose to sit at an angle like it is?
anyways after i first popped it in i got an 8821 on 3dmark06, after a couple quick safe tweaks i got 8955, when i pull my pc apart to clean it i'm gonna move the jumper and see what it can do

yea the 8800 gt is the best bang for the buck in the 8 series, it's only a shade slower than the gtx and with a light overclock can be made equal to or faster than the stock 8800gtx. i have the evga 8800gtx and that thing is HUGE. i hope they start making them smaller, if they get any bigger i don't think they'll fit in my case lol. it literally dwarfs the 8800gt in your pictures, sad huh? and yea the dual sli connections from the psu is a pain, just adds to the mess of wires that were already there, but it's a badass card nontheless.
waht made me sad, they promised it would run crysis at playable framerates... yea right, i had to turn the graphics down to sad levels to run it smooth enough for me to enjoy, but one prob is that i have to run my native 1920x1200
but once the 9 series comes out... i should be able to handle crysis at eye candy level

nice.....great price too. I want a 8800GT but would like to get a new case and redo my watercooling setup first, and the 3870x2 will probably be out by then.
oh btw, I got 14,815 in 3dmark06 quad core and volt-modded 3850 ftmfw
