I think I might be unintentionally overclocking my server....

So I fairly recently got an AMD 3000+ and am using it as my server.
But the thing either freezes or restarts once in a while.
The internals seem to be pretty hot all the time, and
my front side bus (fsb) is set to 166mhz.
Now, if I set fsb to 133mhz, then the start up screen no longer says that
I have an amd 3000+ but an amd 1700.

So am I overclocking it or is it in normal operation and I just have crappy cooling?

If you change bus speed it'll change the reporting speed of your CPU. Take the heat sink off your CPU and see what CPU it really is and set bios accordingly. It does get hot in the case though. Are all your fans running? the front one sucking in...the back one blowing out?

Ok, so I checked, and the bus speed is correct.
I also rewired my fand to run from another power supply because I thouhgt that my main one might have been overloading.
But now I think that it was a software problem not hardware.

But that last reply brings up a different question. Do I HAVE to set up my fans like that? Front sucking in, back blowing out? I actually messed around with my case to have 2fans in front, 1(or more) in back, 1 on the side, and 1 on top.
Right now I have only the one on top blowing out and the rest blowing in.
Or should I set it up differently?
