moniter going bad?

outa coursity... how can you tell if your moniter is going bad?

no weird noises? i get lots of high pitched noise and the screen sometimes flickers a little

that's what mine was doing before it went. then one night i smelled a nice little burning smell and my wife's monitor just stopped working. that was pretty much it.

thats cool... i havent really gotten a chance to see how shit looks on it yet... i got mine at a great deal too... i got it for $190, it was a floor model...
