as far as I know, ALL dual core desktop cpu are 64 bit. All of Pentium D are 64 bit. Some of P4 are 64 bit,(all of the 6xx series and some of the 5xx series) are.

I am not saying that a 32bit cpu can't run vista. I am saying that most likely he has an older computer that won't run vista efficiently, like not enough RAM.

my notebook has dual core, 32 bit processor... i suppose it's 64 bit if you consisder each core... but it's only a couple months old.

hmm, come to think of it, i may need to see if its is a 32 or 64 processor; now i'm all confused
