Hey Guys,
This is a serious question, not some noob coming at you I have been planning a pretty hardcore sleeved 84mm b18? 10:1 with all the goodies and running a t3/t4 based kit on it conservatively to get about 300whp. This is a street car, daily driver... I tried to buy a GE sleeved 84.5mm B18C1 from VSRacing last week, but both of them had sold by the time I got a hold of Viren. I'm contemplating all of my options, and have recently began to consider NA. I am thinking of getting the Import Builders Package 2 - 84mm sleeved LS/Vtec, GSR tranny, LSD, etc.. a very nice and complete package. Estimated at 195-210whp before any other options are added, which they would be Just wondering how much whp an NA integra needs to be low 13s, high 12s at sea level without factoring in suspension, traction, etc.. All I can seem to find are timeslips from hatches with similar motors, I am really interested in 3g teg times. Another, possibly more realistic idea of mine is to use moderate compression (10:1) and supercharge it down the road with a JRSC, which I believe would let me put down about 250whp or so plus a nice torque increase. Will I need to SC or turbo to get low 13s and high 12s without spending 20k?
BTW I'm done with N20...
Thanks!

to run 12's? just do the LS block, do the valve train, like some stage 2 cam shafts, type-r water pump, type-r fuel pump, some good after market pistons and rods, and LSD. Then keep your original head, so if you have any other mods done you didn't waist your money, cause they should just bolt right up to the new block without any problems. Im currently building an LS block for my car, and i have all of the items listed above plus the stuff i have already, and i should be pounding out about 200-215whp. you should be able to run 12's all day long with that type of set up.

I beg to differ, if you go to or call east coast motor sports, they have the same set up, but with a different head gasket to up the CR, and they ran a 11.5s quarter mile in a si hatch. Though they have no interior except for the driver side seat, with the interior you should be able to hit high 12s i think.

most n/a tegs i've ever seen have been running 13s w/o cats...so not really legal
stick to n2o if you dont want to spend 20k
if you're looking for a daily driver...why do you want to go so elaborate on the engine. not to be pessimistic...but it can get stolen the day after you get everything tuned...good bye 30k(car and engine)
you can blow something up...ditto
in a year or so when you want to buy a new car...whats the value of the car you just invested the downpayment of a house on....same as the next guy who left his car stock...actually your car will be worth less
I've got N2O, I've been running it for over a year now and am sick of having to get the bottle filled... Not having consistent acceleration from varying bottle pressures... I'm going forced induction or NA no matter what, I'll have my car as a sail driver for another 2 years and then it's going to be a weekend racer for fun.

so you have your bottle filled and there are diff in psi which affect your performance
you dont think thats going to happen with a turbo?
with a turbo you're going to spend a lot of time maintaining the damn thing
aftermarket turbos i wouldn't consider consistent...esp in varying temperatures as diff in temps/air mix will affect fuel greatly

buy another bottle to put into the trunk
Efficiency losses due to air temperature variations are inherent in any kind of performance setup... I live in Washington so I am not too worried about excessively high ambient air temps N2O is nice in that respect, but bottle pressure more than negates the positive aspects of utilizing it. N2O is good for straight line drags, but I want more than that... I want a good all around performing car, one that can hang on road courses as well as the 1320. A fast spooling turbo or a SC setup can offer much more than N2O for my goals. I know that I won't be getting anything close to a decent return value on my investments in performance enhancing mods, but that is not the point... I could get a cheap hatch and throw an H22 in it and run a decent DP shot and be damn quick in the 1/4 mile but that is not what I want. There aren't any mods you can do to your car that will be worth it in the long run, mods and return value shouldn't be used in the same sentence. My teg will be turned into a weekend racer in about 2 years once I'm out of school, I don't plan on selling it. As to getting it stolen, I am confident in my extensive alarm system, limited access garage with 6 cameras (one pointed straight at my car), 3 passive theft deterrents (Auto-Loc, Wrap Around Club, etc..), and a 24hr security guard patrolling the very small garage... Thanks anyways

BTW you can't steal a car that won't run, and tow trucks can't make it into the garage
