A/C QUESTION PLEASE HELP

So i bought the car(95civic) about 2 months ago and within the first month the a/c quit blowing cold air. Figure the guy charged it right before i bought it, so i take it to aamco and the guy tells me that the COMPRESSOR is bad. So he begins to tell me what its going to cost-

COMPRESSOR-$454.67

DRIER-$49.88

EXPANSION-$52.93

LABOR-$120.00

S/S-$35.00

A/C CHARGE-$99.99

FOR A GRAND TOTAL OF $798.67, and thats BEFORE tax!!!!
So i did some research online and can buy my own compressor for a tad over $100, so my question is are they just trying to ass rape me or what??? Does anybody have any experiance in a/c that could give me some advice please.
