Cold air intake question..

hi, im brand new here and i joined cause i have a question. i bought a 08 civic coupe about 2 month ago and now im looking to add a cold air intake kit. i was wondering about K&N intakes. i read somewhere that the oil you have to add to the filter can damage the mass air meter.. is that true? and if it is is it just K&N or is it with any filter you have to add oil to?

If you use too much oil it can potentially damage anything in the intake stream. However, that's not the reason I stay away from K&N filters- I stay away from them because they don't filter the air worth a shit, they allow a LOT of crap through that can (and eventually will) damage your engine.

People have a tendency to over-oil filters. They only require a very light coating.
