I have a 95 prelude si with among other mods a ceramic coated DC Sports 4-2-1 header. In the warranty it says that if you rap the headers then the warrenty is voided. Why would this void the warrenty? It wouldent have negative effects on the header could it? thanks

Hot gasses move faster than colder gasses and wrapping the header keeps the heat in better I don’t know how big the gains are on our small engines and I don’t know how long it takes to kill the header, but I will say that header wrap was big in NASCAR but most teams don’t use it now because they don’t like having to replace the header with new ones after every race or so
Mods: ported/polished head (port matched and polished intake manifold), dc header, custom intake, milled head 30 thousandths, custom titanium muffler
also... header wrap keeps underhood temp down, which is important in an import, especially a honda, b/c god knows there isn't much space under there...
the idea of not wrapping b/c they'd have to replace the headers each race is a bit absurd, considering that teams are known to switch engines at the track, if need be. and each engine is built for each track, so why would they worry about using the same headers... just my thoughts..
the only time i've seen heat wrap really used is on intakes (to keep heat out) and on turbo setups
the long term effects are negative, as stated, and i think it would be more damaging on the ceramic coated header, as it isn't stainless, but mild steel...
