Dyno Tuning

I am planning to dyno tune my car just to see where i am standing right now. I am curious, is it different running an auto than a manual on a dyno. Or is it the same. I am about to start my b18b turbo project and i know i have to dyno tune it with hondata. There is a dyno 4 blocks from my house and i want to give it a try.

im curios how much did you pay for your hondata? and for the auto/manuel questiion i dont think there would be a difference running it on a dyno or not, but i know an auto isnt gonna put as much to the wheels as a manuel would..

why are you going to a dyno right now? its a waste of money to tune your hondata now if youre just going to turbo it.

wait until you put everything one, then tune it. save yourself the trouble of doing it twice.

If you have the money to waist and you want to see how much you are putting down then why not. I personally agree with the other guys. You should wait untill you have everything on there.

Its actually not a bad idea. However I would just do a base run now which would cost you less. I had a few base runs done for $30 with a/f plots. Its just basically 3 passes on the dyno to see where you are at. Depending on the tuner, they may charge differently.

But its not a bad idea. Then when you get the turbo and Hondata on the car, dyno tuneit ans see how much power difference it made. That way, you have a baseline to compare it to.
