engine imbreading and such

hey all

the civic that i looked at today has a GSR/SI engine in it its a B16 short block with GSR head tranny and intake etc. what im wondering if this would put out more than a normal Si , and or a GSR?

and also when i drove it there was a sorta whine to it when i drove faster

Um what, it’s a B16 block with a B18C1 head? That’s an odd combo normally it’s the other way around. I don’t see any gains from using that head/block combo as the B16A head is the better of the two. That’s why Honda uses the B16A head on the B18C spec-R engines…

yeah i know its odd, but the guy blew up the GSr motor but salvaged the head and other stuff so he just bought a B16 shortblock to replace the the old GSR one

but now i have the perfect r/s ratio right

oh and does anyone know if you can put a Si valve cover on a gsr head?
