what you mean it's not that easy to run 400-500whp on pump gas?

i doubt it. not on a motor that size with the boost required to make that power. it's not a v8 hehe. v8's can make 350whp on fucking regular. but a b18 series trying to make 400+whp isn't gonna happen on less than 91 octane, even at 91 that thing might be risky. a turbos worst enemy other than lag is heat.

my friend had an SI with a GSR bored to 2.0 fully built that made 512hp track tune on 93 octane and 460 on street tune
ran it like that for a long time, never had any pinging or anything

didn't say it wasn't possible but it's was prolly huge ass turbo. we have 400whp hondas here as well. uncommon but possible. people have this idea that a 400whp+ car is easy to build on a 4cyl

maybe i misunderstood, didnt really read the thread
but no, if you make a honda have 400hp "easily" then i bet it will last 2-3 months
my buddy spent over 20g in his civic, yea its sad, but test and error, and it pays to do it the right way too
and yea the turbo was huge.. i think it was like .70 trim
took years to spool, but when it did, it was scary
exactly. people think it's easy to make this kind of power on a 4cyl and it isn't. when you read the mags they talk about it like vin diesel talks about 10 second eclipses. like everybody has one. and the ones that do make power like that don't last long. and alot of them are just highway queens.

and daily driving is out of the question
my friend would take his out on the road every now and then
but with a turbo like that its either all or nothing
he had to go out and buy an auto teg to get around
even a 57 trim t3/t4 is barely for the streets. i keep up with my boys hat till the middle of third with my t25g. he has a 320whp+ civic hatch. but you would need a montrous turbo to make numbers like that on pump gas. something really thermally efficient

Well, it's almost been a year since I've started this thread and I just to thank you all for your assistance especially EnJoiThaRex. I built the car finally:
I have in mind to get:
a GSR engine w/ 9:1CR CP pistons & eagle con rods
Brian Crower springs + retainers,
XS Power tubular manifold + down pipe,
Garrett Turbo T3/T04E Stage 3 backwheel with 0.63 exhaust housing
Intercooler + piping & hose, greddy emanage with MAP sensor harness & ignition harness
AEM Fuel pressure regulator
boost + air fuel gauge
Apexi AVCR boost controller (to come soon with race gas)
turbo timer on remote (set to 1min)
Four 550cc RC injectors
Hasport Motor Mount
Aluminum Radiator
Fuel Pump
MSD Digital-6 ignition and blaster coil (to come....what do you think?)
tial waste gate & BOV
type r cams
ACT 4puck clutch
Type r gear box (car currently grits while changing fr 2nd - 3rd gear: need synchro)
Tein suspension with skunk2 control arms
Car currently makes 437whp on 15psi boost on pump 90 octane gas
Will post pics soon! The car is VERY fast and I am enjoying it as I get familiar with it.
This I'm gonna keep! Hope I don't get bored & want more/something else
Sorry Rex for saying that I have in mind to get....! Lol! That is what I am currently running! I'm gonna take some pics tomorrow. I agree with you Mattliston; I am going to enjoy this to the max.
