Wonder which transmission/wire harness/ ECU would fit F22B DOHC so i can put it in my '90 accord
Any F or H tranny will work
OBD1 wire harness so your '90 accord with work
as for the ecu, i'm stuck on this too...the P39(jdm f22b) is the best bet but the P14 from H23 will work as well but i don't know if the A/F and ignition maps are the same or worst than the P39
IAB needs to be wire and if the P14 is used, the knock sensor(from a prelude) must be wire in as well.
the distributor on some later model accord and prelude needs to be rewire if i'm understand.
[The IAB and knock sensor should be the same as if you were doing the wiring for a H22 swap]
Pin A17 for the IAB...pink wire...black/yellow to distributor
Pin D3 for the knock sensor...red/blue wire
good question...i think some company just don't sell the ecu without the engine and haress...you can probably search the net and your nearest import shop.
water pump from a f22a(not sure about the usdm f22b) can fit the jdm f22b
for the timing belt...gsr or itr(about 2mm wider) or you can use the h23 timing belt but must swap the f22 water pump gear for a h23
HG from a f22 will work
H23 cam gears
balance shaft belt from a f22 with fit
I am doing this swap on my 93 Accord next week. The place i bought my engine from is giving me a brand new JDM water pump, timing belt and tensioner with the engine.
However, I know that for th emost part the JDM F22B DOHC is a direct bolt on replacement for the F22A1. You CAN use the ECU from the F22A, you CAN use the tranny from a F22A1.
As far as water pumps go, this is what I know:
1. You can use a H23 pump with an H23 belt
2. You can use a F22A pump with a Integra GSR belt
3. Thats all I know :clap
I posted this on the Accord forum, but wanted to ask here. Hitmeoff, where did you get yours and how much did you pay with shipping? Thanks in advance.

Okay, since $2k plus install and replacing the timing belt, water pump, etc will push the cost even higher for a h22, I am researching the jdm f22b dohc. I found this site that has a write up on it and wanted some more knowledgeable posters (ultra in particular) to give me (and the rest of us who are interested in this swap) their opinion.
I found a f22b shipped w/o tranny for $850. From what I have found, stock trannies should work fine, but you need to add a h23 ecu and fab a knock senor on the engine. What do ya'll think?
I actually won an auction on ebay from them on this motor. But they said they have more (might have one relisted already). Thier shipping i think is 150...i didnt pay that, because i live near thier warehouse, so Im gonna go pick it up.
Yes, the f22b dohc was in the jdm 4th gen prelude. It is basically a h23, just a tad smaller displacement. Search here and google it. There is a lot of info out there on it and the "old" guys on this forum don't like questions that have already been asked.
Yeah I cant blame them, I know the feeling from other forums. I have been googling a lot (maybe too much as it would seem I am finding websites that have inaccurate information) and I read in a few places the some accords had the F22b DOHC in the US market. I guess they got confused with sohc?

The SOHC VTEC F22B, B1 and the SOHC non-VTEC B2 were in the USDM Accord model. Both the VTEC and Non-Vtec F22Bs are significantly weaker than the DOHC non-VTEC F22B
