OK
car is a 92 EG6 JDM SiR that comes with b16A2
We have done a conversion and installed a b16B engine and box from a EK9 civic type R
the engine is standard apart from having
- a set of Spoon cam shafts installed
- a set of spoon cam gears
- a set of 4-1 jdm 98spec headers
- custom exhaust
- cold air intake
- Spoon sports computer
Engine is using OBD 1 loom and computer and distributor
PROBLEM
The car is running WAY too rich at idle it dies there is so much fuel...
To rectify this problem we have
- changed the fuel pressure regulator that was on the engine B16B one (51psi standard) to the b16A one (42psi)
- changed the injectors so we are using the standard b16A injectors.
- tried a standard EG6 computer to see if it was the spoon computer.
all this didnt make much difference at all...
Does anyone else have any ideas or sugestions????
technically the computer should not know the difference between the engines as long as its runing everything that was from the other engine sensor wise?
Could the cams have too much overlap causing not enough vacum at idle?
do any of the sensors on the engine operate with different voltage etc than the b16A OBd 1 system compared to the OBD 2 system?
Any ides or help greatly appreciated
