obd 2 ecu and vafc

Engine needs to be tuned for fuel its a n/a motor running 12's in the compression. Motor needs to be tuned badly and i dont have the money for the full hondata system and tunning but can pick up a vafc for about 150 and get it tuned for a decent price and i will be able to afford that. Now the main question is can an obd2 gsr computer from a 97 be tuned with the vafc?? I heard different things about these ecu's not being able to be tuned or reprogrammed etc and before i buy the thing i wanna know if i can use it. A quick response would deffinitly be useful. Thanks in advance.

i'd just wait and keep saving for the hondata. it'll be much better than a vafc.

I agree completely with you only thing is that my car is running hella lean and i cant drive it the way i want. I also cant drive it everyday either and i dont wannna risk the 5g's ive dumped into the motor the last few months either so the vafc HAS TO BE the temp fix for now since it is affordable and the hondata will come during the summer after i start working again but the car needs to be tuned asap especially the fuel.

That was the original plan BUT on christmas eve my engine blew beyond all repairs. So i had to get a new block and internals. So while i had the engine out i did all the work so i dont have to pull it out again and pay somebody to take it apart and then put it back together and break it in again. I did all the work while it was out and taken apart i saved a ton on labor and since i got everything together i got a hefty discount on parts aswell.
