SOHC to DOHC ?????

is there a way to convert from SOHC to DOHC by buying just a new head or something? without buying a new block or whole new motor?

Just wondering... Why is this not possible? If you can make an LS/VTEC, this shouldn't be that hard...

It is not possible....Ls/vtec is an ls (DOHC nonvtec) with a vtec head. The key is they are both B series motors. there is no single cam b series motor. Your single cam is D series. There is no DOHC D series motor. Therefore you cannot put a Dohc head on your block. My advice is swap it out for a B series, They have more potential.

you could convert your car to dohc but only with a d series head, the only d series dohc engine is the zc dohc, i think it used 2 come in integras like before 1990 but it wouldnt really be worth alot of conversion better to get a sohc vtec and put it on if u dont want to spend 1000's for a b series engine you could do that and work on that engine, everyone says swap to b series but i dont think its worth it unless u going b18 or h22 because b16 are crap i smoke them everyday with my sohc vtec !

The zc swap is not legal if that matters to you unless you have a car made before 90 or 91 i think

ZC is legal.........Also it is very common and a pretty straight-forward swap. AND it would most likely be faster than your current set-up.............. and a lot more potential w/ the ZC.

If money is no problem and you dont want spend a shitload of money then get a B16. Not completely expensive, but a lot more power out of the box than any D-series motor.
