Stripped a hole on my intake manifold

Well I was changing the Idle Air Control Motor on my brothers 91 Civic and I stripped 1 of the 2 mounting holes in the Intake Manifold. Is there any way to fix this or do I need a new manifold?

You can tap the hole and use a bigger bolt, or use a helicoil.

Major thread damage includes generally badly smashed or stripped threads. sometimes either tap or die can b used. a tap is a threaded tool for cutting internal threads in holes. some things to remember is to use a coarse thread because it holds better thatn fine threads.you may be able touse the tapping oversize method. and you can use a thread repair insert when an oversized hole and fastner is not acceptable. ask if you need to know how to use a thread repair insert. that is your best bet. but thats my opinion.

Danger to manifold!

Sorry, couldn't resist.

Anyway, I'd just helicoil it.

HAHAHAH

Well we don't have a helicoil kit and didn't feel like buying one. Luckily my friend had a tap and we were able to torque that bolt down. Thanks again SHO.
