AEM Adj. Cam Gears

I know a little about engines, but for some reason I wish I knew more about whether or not Cam Gears are worth it. Could someone explain what they do and how aftermarket cams would benefit me? Especially with being able to adjust them and all. Thanks!

(these would go on my '97 SI)

well since your stock...you dont need them. you wouldn't be able to get much out of them. you need to do other upgrades before you put on some adj cam gears. i know your lookin at cold air intakes, so start there, or go with a nice free flowing exhaust first. and once you get some more done to your engine, then you can think about gettin some adj. cams.
