Tops on US sols are all manuals. Pretty easy to take on/off, just two levers hold it in place, and it stores in a rack in the trunk. Just pull down the levers and lift it off. I find it easiest to sit in the car and just hold it above my head as I stand up. Putting it back on is same thing in reverse.

Del Sols sold in Europe and Japan (I think) had automatic tops.

I know it looks cool with the automatic targa top...but If you buy a JDM with it..remember that taking the roof of takes 45 sec, the motor is 150 lb extra to your car....and every time you wan to open the trunk you have to get in the car turn the power on and use the motor to lift the trunk....remember also that it takes up much trunk space...

Yes, you could swap the transtop into your car, but seriously? Why? It takes no more then 15 seconds to put the top on/off.

Yeah the motorized top thing just seems like it would be a waste of space and unecessary added weight. Not that it wouldn't be cool though. But yeah you can probably take it off faster yourself than that trunk thing could.
