engine removal

hey all have a question. I can't get my engine to separate from the trans. I think I have everything disconnected but I am not sure about one thing. the rear motor mount does it have to come off if I am just pulling the engine and not the trans?

the rear mount does have to come out but why would you pull the engine and leave the trans in there i would pull the whole thing its ten times easier.

I don't want to mess with it last time i did my mitsu gs-t trans was trashed. so I am being a little supersticious i guess.

oh ic so your long block is bad but the trans is good?

well when you pull the long block the tranny is only gonna be on one mount to hold it
