engine swap

i have a 94 del sol s. its got about 170k on the engine and is burning oil pretty badly. i would like to swap to a sohc vtec motor but want to keep the same tranny. i don't need all the speed and i like my gas mileage, what should i be shopping for? could anyone tell me where the best place to find a motor would be? are there any online walkthroughs in regards to this kinda swap? thanks for any help.

No he has a D15..

Get the Z6 tranny too, it will not hurt gas mileage, it's geared for the motor and will get just as good of mileage as the DX tranny you have.

Look up Tim at Uleaded Racing. He's near you and does a lot of swaps, I'm sure they have a Z6 or 2 laying around.

motor, ECU, run VTEC wires. That's it. You don't even have to do that. You can just put a Z6 in and run it with your stock ECU, you wouldn never get to use VTEC though.
