Nothing wrong with keeping tabs on an engine. To each his own but many feel that being able to monitor information is very useful.

As for what gauges to get i'd say oil pressure, A/F, oil temp, volt, Pick three.

Don't get those cheap ass ebay gauges either. I'm not a fan of pods because EVERYONE and their mother has a pod.
