You could try to dye it darker. I have never done it but there is dye that you add to almost boiling water and when you dip the plexi it opens the pore and allows the dye in and that would make the plexi darker but you would need something large to be able to dip a sheet that big into. Again, I have never done it just read about it. Would it look bad with only the side windows tinted? Can't really say without seeing it.

plexi comes in different tints and colors. It might be tough to find at somewhere like lowes but plastic companies will carry them.

Del.Ray.Sol......

No offense as you did a nice job with the plexi but how much weight are you saving? I'm estimating somewhere around 30lbs at the most.

I'm just curios as to why it leaks if you replaced the window with a piece of plexi-glass which is the same thickness?

I ask because I'm considering doing the same later on when I hopefully put a roll cage in my car.

I wouldn't think so as that metal wall isn't that thick and I don't think it's braced at all either.

I doubt that it is used for support since there is still the metal between the trunck and the cab. The reason it might leak is I think that if you look the window is actually slanted, the plexi won't have the slant. That will cause the top of the window to be tight but the bottom will be compressing the weather seal and could let water in.

lol it leaks just a tiny bit.. cocked as much as i feel necessary but its not that much.. i have more leaking in from the rubber from the targa top.. bigger fish to fry lol but yea around 35 for the window.. its about right.. but you think your gona put a roll cage into a car.. lol the BOONNGG is cool only once.. i drove one that had a cage lol anyways the weight all adds up.. thats how i look at it..

I posted this on HT but this might help some of you guys.

Oh, and please don't paint the interior anything but oem colors...no reds, blues etc..

The stuff I used:

The adhesion promoter works great. I'd definitely recommend it.

Painting some shit.

Results on some pieces.

Sol waiting for freshly painted goods.

Another pic of the sol for the hell of it.

I saw this SEM stuff at a place here called Space Age, everyone said that it is top of the line. I am waiting to repaint the piece that the seat belt goes through until I get my bracket bar for my racing harness'. That way I don'y have to break them.

I noticed you painted the speaker covers.

I redid the vinyl on mine and only repainted the speaker grill.
